The first step to fixing a problem is acknowledging you have a problem
I am a
pack rat accumulator!
I have a problem with clutter and being unorganized which is causing me anxiety.
Growing up, I recall stories of how my maternal grandmother would purchase gifts early for a holiday or special occasion and then forget where she put them. And I would chuckle at how funny and preposterous the idea seemed.
Until I experienced the same generational habit…
A few months ago I was shopping with my two younger sisters, Stefanie and Jackie. We were browsing stores in the mall and discovered some rather cute, animal Iphone cases. Jackie had been needing a new Iphone case and she really liked one case in particular. The case looked like a Panda bear (Panda’s are Jackie’s favorite animal.) I bought the panda Iphone case for Jackie and told her she could have it for her upcoming birthday in July.
I took the Iphone case home and put it away, assuming I would give it to her on her birthday.
Jackie’s birthday rolled around and she texted me asking if she could have the case. She had been borrowing Stefanie’s lately.
I began looking, in my room and closet for the case – I could not find it anywhere.
Jackie’s birthday was three months ago. Last week, I was rearranging items on the top of my dresser and came across the Panda Iphone case. As soon as I saw Jackie I gave her the Iphone case and apologized for a late birthday present.
